Don Emilio, the children, and the teachers turned what was meant to be a mass for the grandparents into a true celebration...
A Grandparent
On Guardian Angel Day, like every year, we celebrate grandparents: angels and guardians of childhood. As always, we prepare for the events days in advance, transforming the event into an opportunity for learning and growth.
This year, with the help of our cook Cida, we baked delicious cookies, making the wait a moment of joy and happiness that involved everyone! The cookies then became special gifts: some were given to the grandparents at the end of the mass dedicated to them, others enjoyed in our garden during a shared snack.
The afternoon thus turned out to be a beautiful moment of family and friendship: the happy grandparents chatted, joked, reconnected with old friends... and it seemed like they never wanted to go home! For us too, the time flew by, thanks to the beautiful weather that allowed us to enjoy the garden and show the grandparents the happy children at school.
That evening, it was moving to see so many grandparents accompanied by their grandchildren, united in a day of community, peace, and joy. Don Emilio gave us a short but intense and meaningful homily, touching everyone's hearts.
A simple yet precious moment, reminding us how important grandparents are and how much they, too, need to feel part of a large family.
