Dear Pope Francis, thank you because you told us that we are precious in the eyes of God, Jesus and Mary.
We children are also precious in the eyes of our mothers, fathers, sisters and brothers, friends and even teachers. We are precious because within us there are emotions, ideas, thoughts and love that must be respected. We love you and you are precious too, Pope, because you are the head of all the priests, because priests pray for us and to stop the war. Thank you for sending us this lovely letter and telling us we are special.
For you we have designed "the garden of inclusiveness" which are the trees in our garden, which are all different just like us who are a little ugly, a little beautiful, a little tall, a little short, a little Chinese and a little black.
the boys and girls of the Benassi center in Medolla
To greet our dear Pope, we thought we would re-propose the letter that the girls and boys of our children's center wrote in response to his message for World Children's Day (May 2024). In those lines we can find all of Francis' teachings: hope, God's gaze full of love that makes everyone precious, care for the most fragile and the dream of a world of peace... They are precious seeds planted in the hearts of children, which make us look to the future with confidence, just as Pope Francis taught us!
