The "A Bridge to Primary School" project includes specific activities for 5-year-olds, designed to help them build confidence and self-esteem as they transition to the next grade. Balanced attention is paid to emotional and skill-related aspects: self-esteem, self-efficacy, serenity, and motivation are considered as fundamental "prerequisites" for preparing for primary school. For this reason, we recognize the same importance as those related to the development of meta-phonological skills, and the activation of curiosity about writing, reading, numbers, and mathematical operations found in everyday life.
The project, with a view to shared educational responsibility, includes the involvement of parents in training and workshop opportunities designed for them:
More Than Words: Laura Franciosi, speech therapist
A bridge for the primary school: Roberta Di Natale, educationalist, and the teachers of the older classes.
Towards the primary school: Elisa Rognini, psychologist
The school adheres to the provincial protocol for the early identification of learning disabilities (LD) from an educational perspective: the implementation of the established protocols aims to intervene with targeted activities where vulnerabilities are identified.
The transition to primary school is a delicate time for children and parents.
That's why, as we accompany our children, we discuss with parents each year what they need to pack to be well-equipped for this important milestone, and we encourage them to participate in the activities that keep their children busy every day.
This meeting becomes an opportunity to rediscover together that play is children's primary learning tool... even in preparation for entering primary school!
